TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE DUTIES

The Chairman of this Committee shall be responsible for making suggestions to the President and Board of Directors relative to the programs designed by the current provider.

The Chairman shall be responsible for advising the Executive Officer when a program is found defective.

All recommendations involving expenditures on the computer system shall be presented to the President and Board of Directors before any expenditure is incurred.

The Committee will help develop plans for future information systems requirements and upgrades.

The Committee will focus on new technologies and how these technologies could allow us to offer more efficient, cost-effective services.

The Committee will review and report on software packages, upgrades, and hardware issues with an eye toward the “cutting edge” to foster an up-to-date information exchange between members.

The Committee will: 

    o    Analyze results

    o   Assist in negotiating and reviewing contracts

    o   Have backup responsibility of the MLS

    o   Monitor security to prevent unauthorized access

    o   Be a liaison between members and software vendors
